Her holistic approach ensures that each patient receives personalised treatment aimed at achieving the best possible outcome.<\/p>\n<p>Dr McElhinney completed her medical degree in the UK at Queen\u2019s University Belfast. When she finished her basic registrar training, she moved to Perth to gain experience in advanced laparoscopic surgery.<\/p>\n<p>Dr McElhinney&#8217;s passion for women\u2019s health has led her to provide\u00a0seamless care across the full fertility spectrum.\u00a0She has special interests in the treatment of\u00a0endometriosis, menstrual disorders and preinvasive disease of the lower\u00a0genital tract.<\/p>\n<p>Dr McElhinney also works at King Edward Memorial Hospital, where she is part of the Endoscopy team, providing tertiary-level care for patients with endometriosis. She also serves as the lead clinician in\u00a0the colposcopy service, offering care for patients with abnormal cervical\u00a0screening results.\u00a0As part of her work as a\u00a0gynaecologist, she performs\u00a0surgeries on her private patients at Hollywood Private Hospital and SJOG in Subiaco.<\/p>\n<p>Dr McElhinney recognises the importance of teaching and mentoring junior colleagues, both formally and informally. She serves as an associate professor at Notre Dame University, regularly assisting with medical student tutorials and examinations.
