{"id":22695,"date":"2010-05-16T09:25:52","date_gmt":"2010-05-15T23:25:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cityfertility.com.au\/?post_type=staff&#038;p=22695"},"modified":"2026-04-03T14:36:32","modified_gmt":"2026-04-03T04:36:32","slug":"professor-roger-hart","status":"publish","type":"staff","link":"https:\/\/cityfertility.coconutlab.io\/zh-hans\/staff\/professor-roger-hart\/","title":{"rendered":"Prof Roger Hart"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #00509f;\">Professor Hart is a leading Australian fertility specialist and researcher whose sole goal is to help everyone experience the joy of family<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Professor Hart works primarily in:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>IVF and fertility care<\/li>\n<li>PCOS<\/li>\n<li>Special interest in male fertility health<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Professor Hart is an internationally recognised expert in the fields of infertility and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).<\/p>\n<p>In addition to his roles as Medical Director at Fertility Specialists of WA, National Medical Director of City Fertility, and Professor of Reproductive Medicine at UWA, Prof Hart is also the head of the reproductive medicine service at King Edward Memorial Hospital. He is responsible for the provision of public fertility services across Western Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Hart is very experienced in a wide range of fertility treatments. He is pleased to offer his patients all areas of fertility care to give them the best chance at realising their dreams of parenthood.<\/p>\n<p>With the support of his excellent team of nurses, embryologists and reception staff, he is able to offer a highly personalised service to all of his patients. He understands each person&#8217;s journey is unique and is passionate about empowering his patients with the appropriate information and advice to ensure they are able to make informed choices.<\/p>\n<p>He strongly advocates \u2018being healthy for pregnancy\u2019, an adage he applies to both men and women. He believes time invested in being healthy will not only make conception easier but it will also make the pregnancy more successful and impart better health outcomes for the baby.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Roger Hart graduated from medical school in the UK in 1989. During his obstetrics and gynaecology training, he completed a 2\u00bd year fellowship in gynaecological endoscopic surgery (and was awarded his doctorate of medicine MD), a 1\u00bd year fellowship in reproductive medicine, then went on to undertake sub-specialty training in reproductive medicine and surgery. He graduated from his UK training in 2002.<\/p>\n<p>In 2003, he was appointed senior lecturer in gynaecology at the University of Western Australia as he developed his academic career. He then went on to complete his Australian certification in reproductive endocrinology and infertility (CREI) in 2007, the same year he was appointed Professor of Reproductive Medicine at UWA. In 2022, is completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Western Australia.<\/p>\n<p>He is one of only two specialists who have completed the infertility examination process in both the UK and Australia. He then went on to establish a training program for CREI in WA and is delighted that there have been two successful graduates from his program, and one in training.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Hart is the past Chair of the CREI training programme across Australia and New Zealand, highlighting his dedication to training the next generation of fertility specialists.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Hart is a recognised international leader in the field of infertility and has published extensively in the scientific literature in these fields. He has over 250 papers in the fields of infertility, IVF, PCOS, IVM and endometriosis. The programs at FSWA for ovulation induction and in vitro maturation of oocytes (IVM) are recognised as world-leading.<\/p>\n<p>He has a particular interest in the longer-term outcome of IVF on the woman and the child and the early life origins of male and female reproductive disorders.<\/p>\n<p>He is the recipient of three National Health and Medical Research Council grants.
