Before Hormone Therapy and/or Gender Affirming Surgery
If you are thinking about building a family later in life, we encourage you to consider fertility preservation before undergoing sex-reassignment surgery and/or hormone therapy. These treatments can affect future fertility so preserving sperm, eggs or embryos beforehand gives you the option to build a family later in life.

Depending on your needs, embryo creation and freezing may also be an option. In some cases, donor eggs, sperm, or embryos may be used and City Fertility provides access to clinic‑recruited and known donors if required
Counselling and Emotional Support
We recognise that fertility preservation can be an emotional decision, especially while navigating gender‑affirming care.
Counselling is a mandatory and supportive part of the fertility preservation process, helping you explore:

- Your future family‑building preferences
- Ethical considerations
- Your emotional wellbeing throughout the process
