Dr Andy Stamatiou is a senior obstetrician, gynaecologist, and fertility specialist based at the City Fertility Newstead clinic in Brisbane. He also holds clinical affiliations with Sunnybank Private Hospital. He graduated with an MBBS from the University of Queensland in 1990, began specialty training in obstetrics and gynaecology in 2001, and was awarded Fellowship (FRANZCOG) in 2009. With more than three decades of experience, Dr Stamatiou transitioned to private practice in 2010 and offers continuity of care across fertility, gynaecology, and obstetrics, while also consulting at Rainbow Fertility in Newstead and North Lakes.
His clinical focus includes IVF and fertility care, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy for ovarian and uterine support, testicular sperm aspiration (TESA), and advanced minimally invasive surgery, including robotic laparoscopy, for conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, prolapse, and incontinence. Dr Andy’s a known supporter of LGBTQ+ patients, and has a focus on fertility preservation for gender-affirming purposes. Known for compassion, effective communication, and patient advocacy, Dr Stamatiou emphasises a holistic, patient-centered approach tailored to each individual’s physical and emotional well-being.

Dr Stamatiou: “After more than 23 years as a fertility and women’s health specialist, I focus on supporting every patient emotionally and physically. It’s about teamwork, trust, and using every tool, like PRP or IVF, when appropriate”.
Dr Stamatiou: “I provide comprehensive fertility services, IVF, egg and sperm donation, ICSI, ovulation induction, blastocyst culture, genetic screening, embryo freezing, and PRP therapy, customised to each patient’s medical needs”.
Dr Stamatiou: “With a special interest in advanced laparoscopic and robotic techniques, I treat conditions like fibroids, endometriosis, prolapse, and pelvic pain while minimising recovery time and preserving fertility”.
Dr Stamatiou: “At Rainbow Fertility and City Fertility Newstead, I help support LGBTQ+ families with inclusive services like donor sperm, donor eggs, partner IVF, and surrogate planning, ensuring respectful, informed, and empowering care”.
