Associate Professor David Greening is a highly experienced gynaecologist, and fertility (CREI qualified) specialist practising in Gregory Hills and Bowral. With more than 20 years of experience, A/Prof Greening has supported more than 1,500 IVF pregnancies and delivered over 3,500 babies.
He trained in New Zealand (University of Otago, MB ChB, Diploma in Obstetrics), then worked as a GP with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, before completing O&G training in Australia. He further advanced his sub-specialist training in Dublin and London, including working at the Hammersmith IVF unit under Lord Winston.
A/Prof Greening holds the highest fertility qualification (CREI) and earned a master’s degree in Bioethics at Monash University, reflecting his deep interest in the ethics of reproductive medicine. Since 2007, he has been affiliated with the University of Wollongong Graduate Medical School as Honorary Clinical Associate Professor, where he mentors trainees and engages in fertility-related research. He provides comprehensive fertility, gynaecology and microsurgical services, including tubal and vasectomy reversals, with a special interest in reproductive endocrinology, PCOS, recurrent miscarriage, and repeated IVF failure.
In 2018, A/Prof Greening published The Roadmap to Fertility (Rockpool Publishers), a patient-friendly guide to understanding fertility and navigating the journey to pregnancy, which is available as an e-book and Spotify podcast. A/Prof Greening is known for his warm, collaborative, and detail-oriented care style, offering inclusive pathways for single women and LGBTQ+ families through partner IVF and donor cycles.

Prof Greening: I wanted to be accredited to manage complex fertility cases at the highest level. CREI provided the expert training needed to support patients through recurrent IVF failure, miscarriage, and endocrine infertility issues.
Prof Greening: I focus on reproductive endocrinology, including PCOS, recurrent miscarriage, recurrent IVF failure, and microsurgical reversals, helping patients navigate these challenging issues. I also have a keen interest in donors.
Prof Greening: Through City Fertility and Rainbow Fertility, I offer partner IVF and donor treatment paths for single women and LGBTQ+ patients, with continuity and personalised care at every step.
